Ok, so i've totally found me some new friends. And I tell you. I already love them! Ladies and Gents, meet Amy and Jay. One of the funnest couples I've ever met! These guys found me a few weeks back and asked that I shoot their engagement photos before Jay left to go back to work in Nigeria (of all places! Whoo that's far away!). He won't be returning until one month before the wedding, so we threw some outfits together and took out to play in swamps and abandoned places. Here's a little sneak peek for you guys... hope you like. Amy and Jay, it was my complete pleasure to meet and photograph you guys. I just can't wait until the next time!!

:) Ok..it's super duper late, but I just can't go to bed without looking at my session.. which means that I ALWAYS find my favs and just HAVE to edit them right then and there. So, here are 2 of my favs from the first run through.. Many more coming.

Anyhoo.. I spent the afternoon with Nickie, Baby Ann, Wilson, and Ms. Inez. Nickie is a child hood friend of mine who asked me to do her Maternity and newborn photos. I was super honored!! Can't wait to meet you Baby Ann..you're gonna be one cool kid. :)

A high school friend and a current friend tied the knot, and I was absolutely honored when they asked me to take their photos for them! Yesterday was so much fun!! I had an awesome photoshoot with Rachel and David and my assistant Amy. They were so much fun!! We wandered around Jackson and found some fun places to set up camp. We had some fun encounters running across a busy street in Fondren, with a scary hobo popping out of an abandoned building and an architect getting upset with us for moving things around a bit. Oh well! Gotta do what it takes to get that shot, right?

So, I was approached a few weeks back by the lovely wife of one of my closest friends/photographers Will Smith. She asked if I would mind shooting some photos of their son Carter and her as a surprise for his birthday. I was so honored that she would think of me for this! It made my heart so happy!! So, we devised a plan for getting Will out of the house (golf, it ALWAYS works!) and we took of to play on the farm! We had so much fun and we took a ton of photos..but I wasn't able to post them until Mary Ann got them printed and gave them to him for his birthday..

Hey all!
Had a fun, spontaneous shoot with Danielle and Bob this afternoon. :) I love me some Danielle! She so fun! I love that she's willing to stand out in the cold wind to get some good shots! Thanks for being such a good sport!!

Oh, and how exciting is it that spring has sprung?! I saw flowers blooming everywhere today and this made me super happy! I'm so glad to see some color back in nature!!

Weeeeeelllll Hellllo Everyone! The blog is finished! The wonderful Jennifer Carter revamped my blog for me and made everything Oh-so awesome! Don't ya think?
I've been super busy in the last few months and things don't seem to be slowing down any! I'm so blessed! I've been shooting like mad lately! A few weddings here and there, lovely couples in love, and some pretty cool ad work! I can't wait to catch up and show it to you all!

But, first:
Yesterday I went up to the Mt. Helena in the Delta and shot a fun couple! Ashley (the bride) and I grew up playing basketball againest each other in high school and when her man proposed I knew I just HAD to shoot their wedding and engagements! I'm so excited for Ashley and I wish her all the happiness in the world! Stay tuned late May/Early June, her wedding photos will grace these pages too. :) Hope you guys enjoy these:

Whoooo Hoooo! Happy New Year to you all! I realize that the blog has been a bit neglected lately, but that's all about to change! I'm turning a new leaf with the new year and I am vowing to keep up with this thing. BLOG! Take 2! GO!
My awesome, lovely friend Jennifer is helping me get a new look on here and once that's completed, I promise I will be around and be serious about giving you guys what you want. No slacking. I'm going to start putting all previews on here again for clients and those who'd like to see. I like to give you guys something to think about while I spend my time editing and such. :) I'm also going to start putting personal stuff on here, because I want you to know me...

And lastly, she wanted me to take a photo of herself and her Uncle Adam singing...which was a much needed break from the actual singing we DID hear all afternoon! Can you say tone deaf? And by that I mean, Abbey's father (Adam's brother) LOL! It was quite the "living room event"!

WHEW!! Lots happened this past week!! All good stuff coming my way!!

Senior 2010 Preview-Brittany

Hey All. I had a great day yesterday. I had a shoot with Brittany, a Senior Puckett High School. Her mom found me through My lovely husband, Adam. The contacted me and said that they wanted to have some fun, so, we spent the afternoon 'playing' in Brittany's awesome "backyard". They have a good bit of land about 30 minutes from here and we went ALL over it. We played on stairs, rocks, piers, and old tractor tires. We climbed hay bales (there were balloons involved too). We layed in grass with cows. And finally: we played with peacock feathers! So, this is just a preview, for them. Thank you guys! We had so much fun!!

Army Soldiers are awesome, but the wives...

....are some of the strongest people I know. They are strong, loyal, caring, and have some of the strongest faith. I look up to them and pray for them everyday. For, I know that I could never do what they do.

So, here's another preview for one of the Husband/wife pre-deployment portraits. We had great plans to go to a Botanical Gardens in Jackson to make some pretty, outdoory shots. Well, mother nature had other plans. It came a flood that WHOLE day, so we ended up doing the shoot in the living room of their home. And actually, I liked it better this way. Dawn can send her husband photos of them in their home and hopefully he will find some comfort in that....

Soldiers family portraits...

A soldier and his family....

Last week was a busy week for me. It was by far the busiest week I've had since surgery! I shot two sets of family portraits, a kitchen for a contractor and a wedding in Alabama! Whooo. Now I need to get caught up on photos...
Both of the family portraits I did were for two gentlemen who are in the Army and will be deploying sometime this week and won't be back for a year. So, I volunteered my time and services and took some family portraits for them. I only think it's fair I give them a bit of my time considering all the things they sacrifice for us...
So, here's a preview of one of the families that I shot. I am super pleased about how these turned out, seeing as I was fighting the fussy train the 2 little ones were throwing at me! But, in the end I think they turned out grand! Good luck 114th!! Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family!!

I had the pleasure of traveling over to Alabama this past weekend to attend the wedding of my husband's cousin Keri! Now, Keri is a simple girl and wanted the least amount of fuss possible when it came to her wedding. So, Keri and Zac were married in a very short and very sweet ceremony on the front porch of Zac's parent's house, to the sound of the rain falling, with their close family and friends standing around them.

Congrats to you both! I love you!

Soooo, here I am. I'm back. It's been a dooozy of a few months. Since I last updated I have, photographed two weddings, two bridal portraits, had two epidural injections, and had back surgery. (double take, what?) Yeah, I have been through it all. But, I'll tell you what: I have lived, learned, and taken on a new attitude and look at life. I'm excited about where I am headed and will do whatever i have to do to get to where I want to be. So, Thank You to all of you who love me and who stood by me through all of these woas. (Especially my hubby and my mother and father. My family rocks!!)
So, a TON of new stuff to be blogged about soon. I have some RAD new bridal portraits from Camille and Brittney. Plus a maternity session and some teens and kiddos that I think need to be seen!! So, look out! I'm on the UP and Up!!

Camille, My brother, and I went out and about in town on Saturday to see about shooting some. Here are a few of the shots that we got. There are plenty more on the way......

Also, I saw one of the most fantastic videos yesterday. Being a huge fan of Blind Melon and singer Shannon Hoon, I have always wondered what is going on with his daughter Nico Blue since her father passed away. I was searching the web for some sort of proof that she is alive and well, and found a video that i'd like to share. Here she is, 13 years old, singing with Blind Melon. Singing the the first song her father ever wrote. 'Change' This made me a very happy person that she doing well and supporting her father's band and their new singer. Priceless. Go watch this please.

It's been a minute...

Well, well, guys. Christmas was a whirlwind that has come and gone. It was a great holiday..full of family and friends, and lots of food!! I was extrememly blessed and got a NEW CAMERA from my momma!!! The Canon 40D!!! WOOT!
So, the first chance I got, I went down to visit the BFF Lindsey on the coast and took some killer sunset shots! Here are some of the shots that I took down there. Enjoy!

So..I was out shooting a Christmas parade when I came across what Adam calls, an AstroTruck. Now, really? Who comes up with ideas like this? I mean, making an Astro van into a truck? I need to know exactly what was going through this guys head. Cause I just can't grasp it. So, I'll let the photo speak for itself.

P.S. My favorite part is the 'mini ladder' that leads into the truck bed. Sheesh.

My new favorite obsessions...

So..I've been kinda obsessed with 2 new TV shows. So obsessed that I think I need everyone to become an addict like I am.

Addiction one: Sons of Anarchy. It's a TV show on FX that just rocks my socks off. Have you ever watched a movie that makes you sit on the edge of your seat and your heart beat hella fast? Well, that's what this one does to me. Every week. I mean, it's so suspenseful and interesting that I have had sleepless nights thinking about the last episode. That doesn't happen to me a whole lot, so I knew this was something that I enjoyed. This show was extremely well written and steps waaaay over the boundaries of most shows on television today. The show is about a motorcycle club called SAMCRO. (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Division). It shows the inner workings of these modern day clubs and the lives that the members live. It's filled with love, hate, blood & gore, backstabbing, secrets, pain, suffering, plotting, torture, and everything else you could ever wanna watch. Plus, the lead character, Jax, is mighty fine. ;) Season one just ended last week and I am already wanting more. Do yourself a favor: rent, buy, or stream this show..it'll be worth it. I promise.

Addiction two: Gavin and Stacey. This is another show, but from way across the pond. This show is based out of England...all characters, locations, and story plots are based there. It shows on the BBC (which we get on demand through Comcast) And as advertised, is a "Gem of a new comedic sitcom!". Gavin and Stacey are the main characters that bring every person in this show together. They meet over the telephone at work and instantly hit it off. Now, Gavin lives in London and Stacey in Wales (a whole other country to the Brits). They travel to meet, bring their two best friends with them, and begin a whirl wind adventure that will not leave you disappointed!! Both families are crazy and erratic in their own ways and i tell you, I never stop laughing the whole time. I highly, highly recommend finding this show and sharing in the joy it brings me!!!

So, there you go folks. Now that you are armed with the information...go out and use it!

The interview....

So...Yesterday evening I had the interview with a very nice country club here in Jackson. The interview was to be one of the club's "event photographers" and to be on call to do promotional shots of the club for advertising. [The club was recently completely renovated with new buildings (which are gorgeous! btw) and a new pool, and new tennis courts.] So, I went and talked to the loveliest lady Christina and we instantly hit it off! It was her birthday and she was quite the chipper one! Happy Birthday to Christina!! She was very pleased with my portfolio and told me that she was going to be calling me soon to do the promotional shots of the new buildings and such! Yay! I went in there expecting to be told that they'd "get in touch" or whatever, but was surprised to find that they were quite eager to work with me. It's funny, cause in my mind I do not find my stuff that impressive. I guess it's the artist coming out in me. Never pleased with my own stuff, and in constant awe of other's works. But, never-the-less, I am very happy to be working with them! This is the little confidence booster I have been needing! :)

Now..if I can make it through my busy weekend with little-to-no sleep, then I'll be doing good!!

So..i've gotten a bit of a bug to blog. I feel that this is great outlet for me in more than one way... I can write all the things I have trapped in this head of mine, as well as express my love for photography through words and photo sharing. I started this with the intention keeping it for myself. But, why be selfish? Right?

So, this is the place where I will spill my guts and show you the things I love..and er, possibly not love (depending on the day!). This should be fun!!!

I'll start by saying: Welcome Christmas!! This is going to be a busy month!! I have tons of shoots planned, an interview to be a country club's event photographer, shoots for the newspaper, a girl's Christmas party, a work Christmas party, A family Christmas party (that I am hosting), AND i'm moving offices. Plus, a TON of birthdays to celebrate! Whew! Who said I need sleep??

But, depsite all that..I am chipper and happy. I love this time of year and get excited at the sight of Christmas lights and egg nog! I already have wrapped presents under the tree! Go me! (I'm such a procrastinator! So, this is great for me!) I wish everyone a happy, joyous, and thankful Holiday Season!
